In 2021, Seuss's publishing interests announced the six books—And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, If I Ran the Zoo, McElligot's Pool, On Beyond Zebra!, Scrambled Eggs Super!, and The Cat's Quizzer—would no longer be published, because they “portray people in ways that are hurtful and wrong.”. In McElligot's Pool, there's an objectionable image of fish described as, "Eskimo Fish"; it's the use of the word Eskimo that is objectionable.
This Dr. Seuss classic was first published in 1947. This is the 1975 reissue; the copyright page states that the copyright was renewed in 1975. Further, I believe this is the FIRST PRINTING of the 1975 reissue. I believe this because of the list of books on the back cover. The book with the latest First Edition printing date is Oh, The Thinks You Can Think! is 1975.
Lacking dust jacket, but otherwise, I would grade this copy as EXCELLENT. There is light corner wear, little to no edge wear, no marks, very clean and solidly bound colorful pages..
There are no questions for this listing.
