Vintage 1960 newspaper article large format reprint / poster, “The HAWK by Studebaker is the most UNAPPRECIATED production model in the country!

My wife’s brother had a large Studebaker collection in the 1960s and ‘70s – cars, trucks, parts, paperwork, even a bus. He was a member of the local Studebaker club. He subscribed to “Turning Wheels”, the Studebaker Driver’s Club magazine. He died in 1974. In 2001 the family sold the vehicles and parts.

This is a ONE OWNER poster.  Clean, no musty odor.

The advertisement is an article reprinted from the Los Angeles Mirror newspaper’s Business and Autos section, dated August 9, 1960.  Included with the text are an illustration of the Hawk logo and two black and white photos of Hawks, one in a garden setting (check out those plaid pants!) and one with a skydiver recovering his billowing parachute.

Written by the paper’s automotive editor, Quent Schweninger, the article bemoans the fact that only 5,200 Hawks were produced in 1960, then proceeds to extol the virtues of the “Family Sports Car”, ending with “The Hawks didn’t fly very high this year, but 1961 could be a different story”.

Measures 22 by 17 inches. Printed on one side only. Has been folded for many years in quarters, so it will fit in a conventional envelope for shipping.

No rips, tears, or pin holes. Two small pieces of paper were taped to the reverse side many years ago and used to hang the poster, so there are NO PIN HOLES. These small paper pieces will not be removed by the seller.
