Four pieces of aluminum flatware used in mess kits by the Nazi German Luftwaffe, Air Force, in World War II. This origin is confirmed by the markings. The four pieces of flatware and markings:
Spoon - Luftwaffe Eagle with Swastika on one side, T.W.S. 40 and FL.U.V on the back. The T.W.S 40 indicates production by Thomas Wielputz of Solingen and manufacture date of 1940. FLU.V. stands for, Flieger Unterkunft Verwaltung, or Flight Barracks Administration.
Aluminum Fork - matching above spoon with Luftwaffe Eagle w/Swastika, T.W.S. 40 and FLU.V
Aluminum Knife - Luftwaffe Eagle w/Swastika, Rostfrei Solingen (manufacturer) with an Eagle symbol on blade, and FL.U. V. on the handle.
Aluminum Ford - Luftwaffe Eagle w/Swastika, FL.U.V., a hand-etched "H.F." (initials likely), and FB MT 40, indicating a year of production of 1940 (don't know what FB MT stands for, MT likely manufactured, FB the name of the manufacturer)
