DESCRIPTION –

This is a GAS can, not a WATER can.

This World War II U.S. military 5 gallon gas can is in GREAT condition – clean and dry inside, clean and painted outside.

The exterior has been cleaned, primed, and painted - color is early war olive drab (OD) shade 33070.

Ready to display or install on your jeep, halftrack, weapons carrier, DUKW, CCKW, or other vintage military vehicle.

The can has the correct “G”, “QMC, and “USA” markings.

The bottom is stamped –

The cap is retained to the can by the standard short chain. The cap has only 2 “ears”/”prongs”, and both are vertical/straight, not rounded. The cap has a fiber, not rubber, gasket fitted.

There is a slight smell of old gas from the interior. The can has not had gas in it for over 10 years.

There are small indentations in the can exterior from previous use, but no major dents.

This is a unique can not often seen or available for sale in this condition. This is NOT a dirty, rusty “relic” you will need to spend hours (and dollars) restoring.

Always stored indoors.

While this can appears structurally sound, it is sold as a historical display item. Any other use is at buyer’s own risk.

NOT an “estate sale”, “garage sale”, or “barn” find, this item is from my personal collection. I have owned this can for many years. My WWII jeep has a good gas can on it so this one is for sale.
