ARTIFACT: This is a heavy Mexican sterling silver and enamel belt buckle from the late 1950s. The buckle was made in Taxco, Mexicos Silver Capital. The design is simple, with two raised and somewhat ridged black enamel squares.
VINTAGE: Circa late 1950s.
SIZE: Approximately 2-3/8 in length and 1-1/2 in height.
CONSTRUCTION/MATERIALS: Sterling silver, enamel.
ATTACHMENT: Swiveling prong.
MARKINGS: TAXCO MEXICO and unknown (GOMEZ?) maker mark and Taxco Assay Office mark: silhouette of Mexican eagle with a 3 at center.
