This is from my old Civil War collection from the late 1970's. This is an original CSA piece that was dug in Tenn. and dates to around 1864. Since lead was scarce the Confederates made rock hard porcelain round shot and coated them with a thin layer of lead so the lead they had would go much further in production. These were good at close range but were not so good when shot over long distances.  Buyer pays $3.50 postage.
