Description

In 2020, 6 Dr. Seuss books were taken out of print due to racist imagery.  Five were minor books, but one was the first book Dr. Seuss published, THIS ONE, And To Think I Saw it on Mulberry Street.  The racist image was of an Asian person wearing a conical hat, holding chopsticks and eating from a bowl.  The page with that image is provided as a photo in this listing.  First published in 1937, this is the stated 10th PRINTING, presumably also actually printed in 1937 or shortly thereafter.  I've graded it as GOOD CONDITION, with the main wear issue being the boards.  The spine paper is torn as seen - a repair entailing glue to the existing paper could enhance the spine, and some careful cleaning of the boards could bring the boards back to life.  The book has a bookplate affixed for first free endpaper.  Otherwise, all pages clean with no markings, solidly bound.

RARE OUT OF PRINT 10th PRINTING OF THE FIRST BOOK WRITTEN BY DR. SEUSS!

Payment is by Paypal.  I can invoice you if I have your email address.
